Hochkar - 17 km

Hochkar is a desirable excursion destination in Summer too. Enjoyable walks, perhaps with the chair-lift to the lower summit, and with only about 20 minutes further walk, the main summit is reached (1.808 m) offering a wonderful view. This also makes up the starting point of the Alpine tour Hochkar - Dürrenstein - Ötscher.

Wasserlochklamm - 20 km

In the area of "Palfau" the biggest cave through carrying water is situated. A climbing layout by the rocks with stable wooden stairs and bridges leads through a 900 m long ravine. The climb marks a height difference of 300 m. Water gushes from the cave and continuing plunges over 5 spectacular waterfalls into the valley and join the wild flowing Salza river.

Wachau - 80 km

It's situated in the well-known wine-growing regions of Durnstein, Spitz, Weisskirchen und Krems. Taste the nice wines or visit the Chapter house Gottweig and the ruin Aggstein. Have a look at a wine cellar, Melk Abbey or take a cycle tour along the Danube.

Kartause Gaming - 20 km

The former Kartause museum Maria Thron originates from a bequest of the duke Albrecht. In the baroque-gothic church you will find the tomb of Albrecht II the Habsburg duke and his wife; as well as the former Cloister library, dating from the early 18th century.
